Commandos: Origins is the sixth game in the legendary Commandos series and marks the return of the series after 18 years. The game is developed by Claymore Game Studios and published by Kalypso Media. It is scheduled for release on May 22, 2025, for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC via Epic Games Store and Microsoft Store, with later releases for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2025. In Commandos: Origins, players have the opportunity to experience the beginning of the legendary elite unit during World War II. The game returns to the real-time tactics genre and features the original six members of the Commandos team: Jack O’Hara The Green Beret, Thomas The Miner Hancock, Francis T. The Sniper Woolridge, Samuel The Driver Brooklyn, James The Marine Blackwood, and Rene The Spy Duchamp. Together, they must complete 10 missions set in various environments, from the icy plains of the Arctic to the vast deserts of Africa and from the western coast of Europe to the Eastern Front. The game focuses on challenging real-time tactical stealth gameplay, where players must leverage each commando’s unique abilities to infiltrate enemy facilities, carry out sabotage, and disappear without a trace. The detailed and interactive environments offer multiple ways to achieve mission objectives, giving players the freedom to plan and execute their strategies in different ways. Commandos: Origins offers both single-player and 2-player co-op multiplayer, either online or via local split-screen, allowing for collaboration in the challenging missions.
